Five RV's and one cement truck were burned Saturday in a multiple-car fire at a junkyard in Chula Vista, the Chula Vista Fire Department said.
According to CVFD Battalion Chief Chris Manroe, fire officials responded to reports of a trailer on fire at a junkyard located on the 1500 block of West Frontage Rd. around 4 p.m. Firefighters found three trailers on fire once they arrived at the scene, Manroe said. Because of an initial structure threat, the fire was upgraded to a commercial industrial response.According to Manroe, numerous people occupy the lot and the City of Chula Vista is working on cleaning up the area.
