The Scream reboot has audiences cheering for the Core Four, but there are five missing characters who would be great to see return for Scream 7.
The Scream franchise has established new characters to cheer for in the reboot, but there are five missing legacy characters that can return for Scream 7. The reboot has honored past fan favorites by mentioning them in passing, having them return as ghoulish illusions, and including them in the action.
Randy Meeks Randy Meeks was the initial horror-movie lover and a fan favorite for explaining Scream's horror movie “rules” to stay alive in a slasher film. Randy enforced the meta touch of the first two films, providing comic relief and often acting as an audience surrogate by suspecting other characters of murder and blatantly sharing what others should and shouldn’t do. Unfortunately, Randy met his shocking demise by being killed in a van in broad daylight midway through Scream 2.
Dewey Riley At first, Dewey Riley can be viewed as a joke and punching bag within the original Scream trilogy. His wide-eyed wonder and tiny mustache have served as a parody of law enforcement in the first Scream, but Dewey surviving several stabbings and near-fatal injuries in many films turned him into another fan favorite. Dewey’s detective work is sincere, and he’s proven himself to be a faithful protector of both Sidney and Gale while courageous in the face of danger.
