Multiple people are injured after a shooting unfolded in a residential neighborhood in North Carolina's capital city. Among the dead is an unidentified off-duty Raleigh Police Department officer.

Five people are dead, including a police officer, after an hourslong shooting Thursday that unfolded in a residential neighborhood of Raleigh, North Carolina, officials said.
Another Raleigh officer was one of the multiple injured in the incident, Baldwin said. She said that officer, a K9 officer, did not have life-threatening injuries but said the conditions of the other injured were unknown. The total number of injured was not clear. North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper said multiple law enforcement agencies were responding to the incident. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms in Charlotte said special agents were also responding.“State and local officers are on the ground and working to stop the shooter and keep people safe,” Cooper tweeted.
