After last week’s storm that left more than 800,000 outages in Michigan, many residents are still left without lights, appliances, and water. 5 days after the ice storm, some in Michigan still lack power:
, together said more than 130,000 customers lacked power by evening. Consumers added roughly 50,000 to its outage map, hours after reporting that the finish line from last week's storm seemed near.
Davis, 59, really wants a shower. No electricity, of course, means no lights or appliances, but her problem is even more acute: no water. “It’s the biggest hassle,” she said. “We’re actually scooping water from a creek with 5-gallon buckets and then dumping it in the toilets to flush. I haven’t showered since last Tuesday.”
