The NFL's legal tampering began Monday morning at 9:00 a.m. Pacific time, and several 49ers veterans are likely to agree to deals with other teams.Javon Hargrave agreed to a four-year deal with the Niners. Hargrave had a career year with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2022, racking up 11 sacks on the team that eliminated San Francisco in January. He was widely considered the best defensive tackle available on the market.
Interior defensive line was a major need for the 49ers, as both Arik Armstead and Javon Kinlaw struggled to stay healthy in 2022. The deal comes with the added bonus of taking star power away from Philly.Garoppolo has agreed to a deal with the Las Vegas Raiders,. Garoppolo is off the board for the Jets, who are still nervously waiting for Aaron Rodgers and nearly out of alternatives if the mercurial QB retires.
Garoppolo's up-and-down tenure in the Bay made him something of a franchise legend, as he racked up wins and catastrophic injuries in nearly equal measure. The team went 38-17 in the regular season games he managed to play since coming over in a 2017 trade, including a memorable ten-game run in 2022 when he played some of the best football of his career.
