To the delight of 49ers fans, Cowboys kicker Brett Maher has the worst case of yips in NFL history.
One enterprising Niners fan reminded Maher of the most famous fictional kicker meltdown in NFL history.
“BRETT MAHER LACES OUT,” a sign right behind the goal posts read, with a photo of the fictional Dolphins kicker from “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.”In the 1994 Jim Carrey movie, the kicker missed a chip shot in the Super Bowl and blamed Dan Marino for a poor hold, failing to properly position the laces. The movie is so anti-gay and transphobic that even Joe Rogan recently called it “,” and with good reason.
The 49ers lead the Cowboys 9-6 behind three field goals from Robbie Gould, who neither has the yips nor has kidnapped a dolphin and Dan Marino.
