UPDATE: Authorities have identified the three people charged in connection with the shooting death of security guard and former police officer Kevin Nishita in Oakland.

, Oakland police announced Wednesday.

Laron Gilbert, Hershel Hale and Shadihia Mitchell were all charged with murder, attempted second-degree robbery and assault with a semi-automatic firearm, according to the district attorney's office. Mitchell was also charged with possession of a firearm by a felon. Nishita, 56, was shot in an attempted armed robbery of a news crew in downtown Oakland on Nov. 24 and died days later.

Hale and Mitchell are in custody, the district attorney's said. Gilbert is not, but investigators are trying to locate him. Mitchell is scheduled to be arraigned Friday morning. Hale's arraignment has not been scheduled at this time.
