Gasoline prices slid for 13th straight in Houston and across the nation.
Gasoline in the Houston area average $3.05 a gallon, down 13 cents from week ago and 45 cents from a month ago, according to the fuel-tracking service GasBuddy. Gas prices here are 33 cents higher than a year ago.Nationally, the average price fell 8 cents a gallon to $3.67, down 27 cents from month ago, but up 52 cents from year ago.
Prices have fallen as crude prices have moderated, peak summer demand has passed and refiners begin to switch to less costly winter blends. Crude was trading higher early Monday at about $87.70 a barrel.
