"I actually stuck these OVER tile that I had just installed, but hated! I was too lazy to take the tile off, and I had a little bit of room left inside the frame so it would be flush all the way across. These are very thin, and not thick like regular tile. They are basically sheets, which I love. The adhesion is exceptional. They are difficult to get off once you put them on, so be careful about making sure they are straight and in line first.
There are no grout lines, which is awesome. You just have to make sure you put them right up against each other. It took me maybe an hour to do my kitchen island. Another good thing is that I was able to cut them to fit with my Dremel. Just put a piece of masking tape over it so it doesn’t splinter, before you cut. I also wiped down the surface with rubbing alcohol and let it dry just to remove any dirt. Very, very happy with these.
