Celebrities speaking on mental illness has helped normalize what people across all walks of life go through.
Approximately 1 in 5 adults in the U.S. experiences a mental illness in a given year. And yet, even with its startling prevalence, there’s still a stigma that keeps many people from talking about it openly. The shame that surrounds mental illness can be crippling and is powerful enough to prevent someone from seeking help, so this conversation is an extremely important one.

I would literally start crying and shaking if I had to do interviews at red carpet events. It was really nerve-racking and it’s scary, and it’s not only you.
