2023 Toyota GR Corolla MORIZO Edition Goes Hardcore Drops Rear Seats, Gains More Torque | Carscoops carscoops ⬇️
While Toyota has yet to fully detail the hotly-anticipated 2023 GR Corolla, the Japanese carmaker has already churned out a second special edition variant after the limited run Circuit model called the MORIZO, which is the nickname used by Toyota Motor Corporation President Akio Toyoda when he’s sitting behind the steering wheel of race cars.
Complementing the added torque are a series of weight-saving measures that mean the MORIZO Edition weighs almost 100 lbs less than the Circuit Edition. These savings were made by removing the rear seats, rear door speakers, rear window regulator, rear wiper blade and motor, and new 18-inch forged wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. Other lightweight components of the MORIZO Edition include a forged carbon fiber roof, an aluminum hood, and aluminum front door panels.
Pricing details as well as the number of cars to be offered in each market will be announced later this year.
