Thankfully, Land Rover has finally decided it's time to give the smaller Defender the racy treatment with its own Trophy Edition for 2023. is a limited edition model that affords its owners the chance to race in the North American Defender Trophy race, with the winning team then competing in the UK race.Land Rovers and the Defender itself are known for being the Kings of Overlanding. For decades, these SUVs were used in safari trips and whenever someone needed to go well off the beaten path and forge new trails across the globe.
That amazing decade and race is what inspired Land Rover's Trophy Edition for the 2022 Defender 110 . It was limited to 220 models, but those owners could also participate in the North American Trophy Competition in Asheville, North Carolina., the same trim that kicks off the 110 Trophy. The amount of Trophy Editions also goes up to 250 models, so more people will get the chance to own this special edition.
Just like the purchase of the Defender Trophy in 2021, owners of the 2023 version will get the opportunity to participate in the North American Trophy Competition, a one-day off-road adventure race at the Land Rover Experience Center in Manchester, VT on October 8, 2022. Each of the 90 participants will be made into 15 two-person teams, and the winning team will go on to the UK to participate in the 2023 Classic Land Rover Trophy Competition.
