Illinois Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2022 inductees were honored at Rialto Square Theater in Joliet, IL.
They took people back in time as Illinois-renowned musical legends took to the stage.
This year's honorees included Chicago's soft rock band New Colony Six, who gave a special green room performance that became a Number One hit on WLS in 1968, and Sam Cooke, also Chicago-grown and nationally known.Cooke's niece said the"King of Soul" and their family take this award to heart. Sunday's Illinois honorees celebrated influence on an industry. And fans celebrated for how it shaped their identities.
