The history of the DC Universe is filled with events that rocked the heroes’ world. See which events have only gotten better as time has gone on.

Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT As the home of powerful heroes and villains, DC Universe has experienced several dramatic events in its history. Events can be fun, engaging storylines that give DC Comics’ characters a chance to prove their mettle and show what they’re really capable of. But not every event is beloved exactly, and some end up with a pretty bad rep.

18 Forever Evil Forever Evil by Geoff Johns and David Finch put the limelight on the villains of the DC Universe. Not only did it introduce one of the most vile incarnations of the Crime Syndicate, but it also allowed Lex Luthor and Captain Cold to take the role of ‘hero’, paving the way for their role on the Justice League.

14 Day of Vengeance Fans of the DC Universe’s magic side were no doubt fans of Day of Vengeance by Bill Willingham, Justiniano, and Walden Wong. This event brought together the greatest magic heroes of the DC Universe together for what is considered one of the best opening salvos to Infinite Crisis.

10 Final Crisis Final Crisis by Grant Morrison, J.G. Jones, and Carlos Pacheco was one of the most intense Crisis events in DC history. While all Crises explore serious events, this one went all out and was billed as the “day evil won”, handing Darkseid everything he’s ever wanted by giving him utter control of the DC Universe, a treat for fans of the iconic villain.

6 52 52 was a yearlong, weekly follow-up to Infinite Crisis by Geoff Johns, Grant Morrison, Greg Rucka, Mark Waid, and Keith Giffen. The series showcased the DC Universe’s missing year during its “One Year Later” branding. It doesn’t just focus on the heavy hitters of the DCU. Dozens of underrated DC heroes get to shine in this epic storyline.
