– Two students have been arrested and charged after making social media threats against Clear Creek Independent School District, officials announced Monday.
The accused were reportedly angry that CCISD did not close campuses so students and staff could enjoy the Astros World Series parade. Several other districts, including Alief, Aldine, Houston and Fort Bend, did cancel classes. Investigators were able to identify both students, who were subsequently placed under arrest charged with felony terroristic threat.The district released the following statement:
“Through a joint investigation between Clear Creek ISD School Liaison Officers and the Department of Public Safety, two students have been arrested and charged with a felony terroristic threat this morning, November 7, 2022. “One Clear Lake Intermediate student and one Seabrook Intermediate student were detained for making threats against the school district on social media because it held school during the Astros parade on Monday.”A second student has been arrested & charged with making a terroristic threat against CCISD. This is in connection with the investigation into social media threats against the district because it held school during the Astros parade. There have been two arrests in this case.
