Steven Carpenter and Johnny Brooks Jr. escaped from the Lorain/Medina Community Based Correctional Facility just before 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
According to the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office, Steven Carpenter and Johnny Brooks Jr. got out of the facility just before 6:30 p.m. They were last seen running southeast from the facility located on 9892 Murray Ridge Road.
Carpenter, who was serving a sentence for burglary, might have been wearing a black hooded sweat shirt and dark colored sweat pants. He is 5-foot-6, 140 pounds, with short brown hair and brown eyes. Carpenter has a beard and a tattoo above his left eye. Officials say people should not attempt to capture or make contact with the two men.
