UPDATE: A live-in caretaker has been arrested and the sheriff's department has opened a murder investigation after two elderly live-in patients were found dead at a home in Diamond Bar.
Homicide detectives consider it a murder investigating and the scene remains active, according to the LASD.
The incident occurred around 8 a.m. Saturday morning at a home at the intersection of Sapphire Canyon Road and Highland Valley Road. The victims were live-in patients at the facility and pronounced dead at the scene. Their cause of death has not been released, but foul play is suspected. The sheriff's department also said the victims were not shot. A coroner will determine the cause of death.Neighbors say there is usually eight elderly people who live at the facility."Care workers were coming out, you know, hands up. Everyone is being escorted out and the paramedics were starting to bring out patients. So, one patient comes out in a stretcher, another one in a stretcher.
