About 2,000 members of the U.S. military across the armed services could deploy to the Middle East to support Israel in its war against militant group Hamas,The 2,000 personnel are stationed in and out of the Middle East, including some in Europe, and it is not clear where they will be sent or what needs to happen for the U.S. to deploy them, thea second aircraft carrier—the USS Dwight D.

An additional 3,400 Israelis and 9,700 Gazans have been injured,Israel and Hamas—a Gaza-based militant group—just entered their second week of war following Hamas’ attacks on Israel on October 7, which killed more than 1,300 Israelis and led to nearly 200 Israelis being taken hostage,to the Israeli military.
