A child was hit and killed in front of Roach Middle School in Frisco. Today is the district's first day of school.

The crash happened just north of Roach Middle School near Independence Parkway and George Washington Drive.

McKinney police say the teenager was on a bicycle trying to cross Independence Parkway at the intersection and was hit by a vehicle.A child was hit and killed in front of Roach Middle School in Frisco. Wednesday was the district's first day of school."I heard a loud bang and dragging and sparks out of the bottom of the truck," said a witness who asked to remain anonymous.
