San Japan, the annual anime and pop-culture convention, is the big event on this weekend’s arts and entertainment calendar. Here’s a look at that annual gathering of the cosplayers and more weekend highlights.The annual anime and pop-culture convention returns for its 13th show. San Japan will feature celebrity guests from VTubers to voice actors; panel discussions on the nuances of anime culture; cosplay contests; and a gaming arcade and tournaments.

Harlequin Theater presents a play by Deirdre O’Conner. “Assisted Living” follows protagonist Anne Kelly as she struggles to support herself and her mother as their house seems to be falling apart around them. When a young stranger comes to town, Anne sees the possibility of a life outside her family.
