Fans may know Robotnik as Sonic the Hedgehog's main villain, but his Archie and IDW series gave the Blue Blur a huge rogues gallery of deadly foes.
Dr. Robotnik, aka Dr. Eggman, is undoubtedly the most recognizable villain in Sonic the Hedgehog lore, to the extent that casual fans might consider him to be Sonic's only nemesis. But there are so many others, especially in Archie and IDW's comic continuities, that get unfairly but understandably overshadowed as a result of the mad scientist's popularity.
9 A.D.A.M. At first glance, it's easy to suspect A.D.A.M. would be a cliché. He's Eggman's traitorous 'son' - a living computer virus who eventually turns on his creator. However, A.D.A.M. rose above these tropes to become a truly Machiavellian villain. A.D.A.M. was a shadowy puppet master who successfully manipulated his father while maintaining complete anonymity as Anonymous. He also scored a major win against Sonic, who proved unable to defeat him. A.D.A.M.
6 Dr. Starline Dr. Starline is such a compelling villain because of his immense character arc, from hero worship of Dr. Eggman to betraying and attempting to replace him. Starline made it his mission to improve on Eggman's mistakes, acting as an in-canon critique of the villain.
