James Cameron's Titanic has one impossible scene that makes way for a big plot hole, but if it was fixed, the movie couldn't have happened.
James Cameron paid close attention to every single detail when making Titanic, but that doesn’t mean it’s a plot-hole-free movie, and there’s one problematic scene that is actually worse than the highly-debated ending with Jack and the door frame. Back in 1997, James Cameron surprised the audience with the disaster drama Titanic, which at the time was the most expensive movie ever made, and it was so successful it held the spot of the highest-grossing film of all time for many years.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Titanic follows Rose, a first-class passenger, and Jack, a third-class young man, who meet on board the Titanic and fall in love, and while they do their best to defend their romance from those who look down upon them and save themselves during the sinking of the ship, Jack ends up becoming one of the many victims of the tragedy of the Titanic.
Titanic Plot Hole: How Did Brock Lovett Get The Safe? Titanic begins with Brock Lovett and his crew visiting the Titanic’s wreckage as they are looking for the Heart of the Ocean, a rare blue diamond believed to have been sunk with the ship.
The website Imperfect Glass made a breakdown of the scene, pointing out that the safe might have weighed around 200-300 pounds and the location of the safe was quite tricky, so much so that Titanic showed all the parts of the ship that Lovett had to go through in order to get to Cal’s suite.
Why This Titanic Plot Hole Is Better Left Unsolved There are some plot holes that, if solved, wouldn’t change the story too much, but in the case of the “Lovett and the safe” plot hole, it’s way better if left unsolved. First off, it would have been very boring to go through the logistics of recovering the safe from the Titanic’s wreckage, and secondly , the safe had to be brought to the surface in order for the rest of the movie to happen.
