Tim Burton's Batman almost included a scene suggested by Michael Keaton that would have hurt his version of Bruce Wayne perhaps beyond repair.
Tim Burton’s Batman is one of the most popular adaptations of the Dark Knight, and Michael Keaton’s version of Bruce Wayne holds a special place in the hearts of fans, and the movie almost had a scene that would have completely ruined Keaton’s Bruce Wayne.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Batman follows the title character in his first years of fighting crime in Gotham City and coming across a unique villain: Jack Napier , who after falling into a vat of chemicals, was left disfigured and mentally unstable, becoming the villain known as the Joker. The Joker’s plan was to use a deadly chemical known as “Smylex” to kill Gotham’s citizens, as it caused those exposed to it to die laughing.
How This Cut Scene Would Have Affected Tim Burton’s Batman Had Tim Burton added Bruce going into a trance to become Batman to the final cut of Batman, it would have negatively affected Keaton’s version of the Caped Crusader.
Although Bruce going into a trance to show his transformation into Batman didn’t make it to the film, Keaton shared that filming the scene helped him “in a way”, as it was part of how Bruce became Gotham’s vigilante even if it wasn’t shown on screen, and it was “part of the character” and the way he and Burton created him.
